Director of Airport Operations, Delaware River & Bay Authority
Stephen D. Williams currently serves as the Director of Airport Operations for the Delaware River & Bay Authority, a bi-state agency, where he leads the operation, management and development of the Authority’s five airport facilities in Delaware and New Jersey, including two Dover-area facilities; Delaware Airpark and the Civil Air Terminal at Dover Air Force Base, and two New Jersey facilities; the Millville and Cape May Airports in Southern New Jersey, as well as the Philadelphia Wilmington Regional Airport also known as New Castle Airport in Delaware.
Steve spent eleven (11) years as the airport manager of Republic Airport on Long Island, and in that time spent 20 years with the former Pan Am Corporation’s airport management company Avports, when he also served as the general manager of the two Atlantic City Airports, overseeing Atlantic City International as well as the former Bader Field Airport.
Steve has over 37 years of academic and work experience in the transportation sector serving in both government and private industry, with 27 of those years in active airport management. He serves as an adjunct professor of aviation at Delaware State University in Dover, and has also taught at Farmingdale State University.
Steve is the current president of the Delaware Business Aviation Association, and is a Past President of the New York Aviation Management Association (NYAMA), and a founding member of the Long Island Business Aviation Association.
Steve is a licensed Private Pilot with over 750 of flight experience, and holds a BA from the City College of New York, and an MBA in aviation management from Dowling College on Long Island.
Steve resides in southern New Jersey.
